So here we are, I’ve finally finished this commission from a few weeks back. Jonny came to the studio and we talked about life, feelings, love, children and our own sense of self. We connected incredibly and our usual portrait session turned into something completely different. Jonny was open, honest and raw. More importantly though he wasn’t afraid of the camera and the more we talked the more he embraced it. The portraits are quite gritty, graphic and raw as a result. Jonny is now on my radar and I am honoured to call him and his beautiful wife Maria friends along with their wonderful children who I’ll be shooting later this year.

Found your website through your comment on Jonas’ Mason Jar Manifesto post. Wanted to see what you meant about feeling like you weren’t doing the work you wanted.
I haven’t made it to the rest of your site yet because this series is so extraordinary that I wanted to tell you these photos are so moving and beautiful.
I, too, feel the need to reevaluate my approach to photography based on Jonas’ post. I suspect a lot of us will, and the world will be a better place for it.
If you have a mailing list, feel free to put me on it!
Warmest,
Faith
Oops — this comment was actually referring to the post above with Rod and Ringo. But now looking at this one, I think it applies here, too.

Hi Faith, I just wanted to write and say thank you for looking at my work, it makes me very humble when I get such nice comments from photographers like yourself ( I checked out your work it’s stunning ). Yes I have looked hard in the mirror this year and am trying to find something different and too surround myself with postive people I connect with. Focusing on quality and not quantity. I have reduced the amount of images i give to client and am taking an old school 60x40cm portfolio with prints the same size in to meetings instead of an I Pad, the images not being ‘alive’ organically was worrying me. It seems sad to make beautiful images and not print them. There is more to come from the Rod and Ringo story and I really appreciate you contacting me. Please stay in touch. I will send you an email. Have a great weekend.
Ok. I know it’s February and everyone’s forgotten about Christmas, but I wanted to share our story this year. I was determined to photograph our festive time this year and have some memories for the future. We had lots of visitors, friends, families and lots of kids. Narell and I love having the house full of people enjoying themselves and relaxing. Good times. Thanks to all who came and shared with us, see you next year.

Lovely photos! Beautiful capture of a wonderful family and celebration.
Thank you Pamela, appreciate you stopping by…
This is Nerida, she has an electrifying smile. Her love for husband Francois was very real and raw, these two people were amazing to be with. Great friendships were formed on their day. Thank you for letting me into your beautiful world.

Recently I had the pleasure of shooting a small intimate wedding in Sydney. The image shown here was taken late in the afternoon and was really a quick grab shot rather than any clever technical feat. I was lucky to get the shot off with the light dying in the sky. Sometimes I guess that’s all it takes. It was a great day with just a handful of guests, I was lucky to be invited to the after reception party. A great day and night.

Cam took my wedding photographs back in 1998 when I married in the UK. Cam’s style was informal yet professional throughout – I have an album of gems that I’ll treasure forever. I can’t thank him enough.
Lovely image, Cam. Well done.
Cheers mate…
i was fortunate enough before christmas to be commissioned to shoot a ballet concert showing the talent of future nureyev’s. it was a challenging environment to shoot in, along with the bad lighting was continuous movement and children. what a combination, i nearly had heart failure. i loved the experience. dance is filled with beautiful flowing movement, angst and electrically charged emotions. it was amazing.
here are a few of my favourites.
